You care for a living, or you've built a life around work that matters — perhaps you’re an artist, a therapist, an educator, an activist, a parent…. The work is still meaningful on paper. But what used to feel like an expression of who you are now feels more like a role you can't quite put down. It’s exhausting to build your identity around caring so deeply.
If part of your life exists online, that adds its own layer: the pressure to be visible, consistent, and impressive — performing a version of yourself for an audience, even when you're running on empty.
Art therapy can be a place to pause the pressure for a while. Not to be fixed or healed — but to give shape to feelings that are hard to verbalize, to practice imperfection, and express something authentic and new.
We meet on Zoom, and you join from wherever feels private and comfortable. Sometimes we talk first. Sometimes you arrive with something already made. Sometimes we figure it out together in the first few minutes.
I'll listen carefully to where you are and offer art invitations that feel relevant to you — not prescribed exercises, but open prompts for you to bring your own intuition to. You use your own materials; they don't need to be expensive or special. Dollar store supplies and recycled materials are genuinely some of my favourites.
After you create, we explore what came up — not through interpretation or analysis, but through curiosity. You are the expert on your own art. I don't diagnose, critique, or tell you what your work means. I help to guide you in making personal meaning from your process.
I work non-directively, which means you lead and I hold the space. Together we pay attention to what comes up — in the image, in the body, in the process of making something with your hands.
Every session is different. Art can be deep, cathartic, playful, and surprising — sometimes all at once. I have the training to support you in whatever feelings arise.
I tend to work with artists, educators, therapists, activists, and caregivers who have built their lives around meaningful work — and are running on empty.
Often, the people I work with are self-aware and articulate. They've done talk therapy before and found it helpful, but incomplete. They're at a crossroads — questioning the life they've built, the work they do, or who they are outside of what they produce. Many carry a complicated relationship with the online world: they rely on it, resent it, and can't quite leave it.
What they're looking for isn't another framework or more advice. It's a space where they don't have to perform insight or hold it together. Somewhere they can to to a place beyond what words can describe. Somewhere they can slow down and make something without the pressure to perform.
You don't need to be an artist or have experience with art materials. You just need some curiosity and a private space to join from.
